Wait... I'm not in Germany anymore?!

Oh Germany!

The Germany I saw was full of beauty and distinction.
The homes were colorful and unique.
The landscape...

was breathtaking..
The history is everbefore ..
Your eyesBut the most beautiful thing I saw was The landscape of hearts and minds changing as the truth of God's word impacted their lives.
In 2 weeks time we spent some 40 hours in prayer, worship , ministry, and discussion.
We saw people open up their hearts to forgive others, allow the Lord deeper in their hearts and minds, and saw them amazed by truth of His word.
I had great one on ones and great time fellowshipping with young people who love the Lord with everything within them.
Megan was such a blessing to me and everyone around her. She served us all with her joyful spirit and constant reminders that God had it all under control! The Lord knew she would make a perfect traveling partner, prayer partner, ministry partner, and friend in this time.
We had the privelage to see lives changed by the amazingness of God's love... Including our own.
We were blessed with many gifts as we left. Many gifts we carry in our hearts and minds.. The stretching of our hearts to allow even more of Gods presence inside happened in Herrnhut. We are forever changed!
We knew as a family that it was right for me to go but we were hit with sickness while I was gone and major stress for my husband. Thank you to everyone who helped! We also paid about 400.00 dollars in expenses for me to go and teach. (It was worth it) if you would like to contribute anything you can go to paypal and put in my email bmkdaughtry@gmail.com
Or send a check to YWAM Honolulu 2707 Hipawai Place Honolulu, Hi 96822 with a note saying its for our family.
Thank you for all of your prayer support and monetary support!!! I love the ministry God has called me to.. Thank you for believing in that and investing in through me.

Worth the ride

4 days in .. And it has been amazing.
Saturday morning Ian had us over to his   breakfast! We sat with his housemates and friends and laughed and talked for awhile. It was the most welcoming group of people I've been around in a long time. (That don't know me)
We all walked down the beautiful street and came to a place called The Jesus House. They do a lot of prayer and worship and were hosting a 30 hour continual prayer and worship time . So we went from 12-2 and then again from 4-6. What an awesome time with new friends .. Worshipping, dancing , and praying!
In between that time we walked through the Moravian cemetery and saw where Count Zinzindorf was buried.
The Moravians held a consistent prayer and worship vigil for 100 years here in Herrnhut.
We came back to our new digs and zonked out. We slept until 11 am! Jet lag is crazy!
Sunday We went back to Ian's to hang out and then to meet the Revive DTS staff. Megan and I shared our hearts, and asked the staff to share why they were here in Herrnhut. We prayed over a few people and Holy Spirit just began doing His deep and powerful work.
Two young men did the Haka as a sign that they would rise up as men of God. It was a blast!
After that we had dinner with a larger group of people considered Revive community. These are people on the base focused on prayer and worship initiatives as a lifestyle to bring revival back to people's hearts and minds.
We ate and laughed and then worshiped and prayed together. Again Holy Spirit met us in a tangible way and we saw breakthrough in people and identity being called out in them. I think we got home at 11 or midnight!
Monday morning arrived and it was time for lecture. The staff asked how we should start and I thought we should start with song. We started with dancing to "breaking the chains". Everyone loved it as we declared that we would not be hindered by other peoples thinking but would focus on God'sbeautiful thoughts of us. I shared my testimony in a ehe new way and we then prayed for inner healing of injustices in peoples lives! What a time we had! It was amazing!
We had a prayer and worship time with the school in the afternoon and then
Megan and I went on a walk through the forest close to the base. It was gorgeous.
We ate dinner with Ian and promptly went to bed! The jet lag kept knocking!!
Tuesday morning we ate breakfast in bed per usual and got ready for lecture.
We had another great lecture talking about Holy Spirit and who He is. We spent time reading a lot of scripture and discussing His personality. We saw more breakthrough and even danced around one student as a sign of how much God celebrates him. Powerful !
There was another worship and prayer set today.
I came back to the room and napped for about an hour and then off on another walk with one of the DTS staff.
The beauty here is amazing!!!!!'

Germany it is...

We have been traveling 30 hours to come across the world and speak to the Revive DTS here.
It was quite the trek. On Wednesday I said goodbye to my family and flew to Oahu. Where I was privileged to worship with the current DTS and School of Missions and Evangelism.
I woke up at 4 and by 5 am Meg's and I were at the Honolulu airport ready to take on the travel!
The first flight was good. Some sleep , some talk, and some good snacks!!
The second flight started with a young kid mocking a question I asked the attendant . I was so angry and wanted to react but just kept walking .. I was reminded that Ian said not to be surprised by any hurdles or bumps along the way since we were coming to a place with such amazing spiritual heritage.
We were beyond blessed by good food and drink on the plane and even  our own personal tv's inserted in the back of the headrests... Another little lurch.. Mine didn't work! The movies played etc but something was wrong with the jack so I could only hear on and off through the flight..another dumb small annoyance.
We celebrated Megan's 30 th on the plane!! She opened her cards and we took pictures!!
We slept well though and even got in a game of scrabble!!  The last hour of the flight the guy behind me was playing some game on the screen and was bumping my chair constantly. I just knew it was another small thing to distract me from the goodness. So I leaned forward and read my book and finally this guy stopped.
When we arrived in Dusselforf we had plans to eat good and shop for some gloves etc while on a 5 hour layover. We went to exchange our money ... And were both shocked at how little we received back.
We both had checked the rates and thought we knew what to expect.. But were sadly mistaken.
It felt like the wind got knocked out if both us . Let's just say we only received 2/3 rds of what we expected. So we picked ourselves up and decided to look for our gate before we found a place to eat.
What we didn't realize is that our connecting flight was in another terminal. Duh.. I mean we both have traveled so much but we just didn't think it through. So after going through security we realize we are in a small terminal with limited access to things and we left the fun part of Dusseldorf airport!! We sat down in the little terminal and said nothing!
The jet lag and culture shock were already setting in! We thought about walking back to the international terminal but going through security again just felt like it would be too emotionally draining.. So we lamented and decided to watch a movie on the IPad together... We didn't even eat.. Culture shock is so weird!
We ended up having a great discussion about the spiritual climate in Europe and really readying our minds and hearts for being here. We reminded each other that ultimately we are here to serve this school and if we cannot eat out or see the sights so be it. We are blessed and live abundantly .
So Megan uses the washroom before boarding our last flight and I wait with the luggage. I decide I will go in after her but while she's in there the little ight starts boarding.. So I think to myself I'll just wait until we get on the plane. Um.. We get on this little plane with no bathroom ! Dear Lord could the little annoyances stop!!!! An hour later we land and I am rejoicing over the bathrooms!!
We met up with our friend Ian and our new friend Lorene..  They drove us to Herrnhut via the autobahn!!
We finally made it to our destination! THE FREAKING CASTLE!
Thank The Lord we slept like rocks! The first full night of sleep I've had in a month and a half! Please be praying for us as we teach and minister to the students and staff here!!!

Onward and upward

We've been in Maui for a week and half now and continues to be a whirlwind of change.
We are still unpacking boxes, making necessary phone calls, figuring out details, and attempting to get into the groove of things here.
Kieva and I started the K-12 homeschooling program two days ago. Saying that we are going to need your prayers is a slight understatement. My son said that I was more strict than any of his teachers had been at Noelani! Oh boy!
Bryan has been keeping himself busy unpacking, watching Kieva as I taught last week, and fixing things around the cottage and the property. Our landlords took some money off of our rent each month in exchange for Bryan doing handyman work and lawn care. What a blessing!
He is still looking for a job. We are praying that the right doors open for him to have long-term employment as a marble and granite fabricator. Please be praying that he finds employment soon...though we have been majorly blessed monetarily in the last month and a half our supplies are dwindling quickly.
UPWARD
Today I get on a flight to Honolulu so that I can make my 7 AM flight to Herrnhut, Germany on Thursday morning.
I have been invited to speak at the Youth With A Mission base ,in their REVIVE  Discipleship Training School.
There are 45 spiritually hungry students wanting to learn more about Holy Spirit, Spiritual Warfare, and Intercession in this school. So they invited me ! Awesome and beautifully disconcerting all at the same time.
I am so excited to go and so humbled to have been asked.
This summer, when they asked me to come I was told that they would
graciously be paying my way there and for my food and lodging while I teach. But that  the details of traveling such as food on the way there and the way back luggage costs etc. would be my family's responsibility.
After much prayer and consideration of the sacrifices that our family would make for this endeavor Bryan and I I knew that this opportunity was from The Lord. We were also confident that He would provide everything that would be needed for this time.
Obviously He knew the situation that we would be in now even though we had no idea! His timing is always very mystifying to me!
If you would like to help in this endeavor then you can go to the PayPal site and plug in my email address Bmkdaughtry@gmail.com or if you would like a tax receipt you could write a check to YWAM Honolulu and include a note saying it's for our family and send it to 2707 Hipawai Pl, Honolulu, HI 96822
We are so grateful for good friends, all of our supporters, prayer warriors and family! Thank you for all if your love, wisdom, and monetary help in this time!

Still running at top speed

We have been on Maui for one full week now and it has been a beautiful blur to say the least!
We landed, and hit the ground running!
First stop, the dock, to get our boxes and vehicle! Then as we arrive to our new house we meet the landlords, see our little cottage, and are blessed with YWAMers who come to help unload our stuff in 10 minutes flat! What a blessing!!
We had been packing, tying up loose ends, and Bryan worked until the morning we left and so we were exhausted. We ate dinner with friends and took a much needed break.
Saturday we met friends at Laniopoko beach and just took in the fact that we were back on Maui. Kieva surfed all day and cried when it was time to leave 5 hours later!
Our great day at the beach did end sadly as the miscarriage process began. Some of you know.. Many did not .. That we were shocked and surprised at the end of August to find ourselves pregnant. We were cautiously optimistic, but 6 weeks into the pregnancy there was no heart beat. We wept openly with friends and grieved the loss of this little person... And again reminded ourselves of the blessing of our son Kieva.
Sunday Kieva and I went to church and had lunch with friends. As we unpacked and got more settled in we learned that my stepfather would be having a stent put in his heart because of blocked arteries....
Monday I began my week of teaching at YWAM Maui on Recognizing God's Voice. The last 5 days have been full of teaching, praying for others, unpacking, paying bills and signing up for new ones!!,seeing old friends, making new ones, calling my mom to see how my step-dad was doing ( he is recovering at home) and walking through the loss of this baby. It's been sad, beautiful, peaceful, eventful, and most of all filled with the grace of God.
Tomorrow I will begin packing for Germany!
I agreed to teach in Herrnhut, Germany this summer way before I knew about the move! I am excited to see what The Lord has in store. But I am asking for prayer in this time.
We have a week and half of Kieva and Bryan being here on their own until my mom can come to help.
Originally she was coming this week but due to my stepdads health she had to stay home. Pray we find people to help so Bryan can begin working. Or that we receive enough support for him to stay home during that time. Will be posting again soon! Thank you to everyone of you that had helped  monetarily, and physically  in this move and in our settling in. We are so very blessed by you!!! And take none of you for granted.
If you would like to support us and need a tax receipt  you can send a check to Ywam Honolulu 2707 Hipawai, Honolulu, HI with a note attached saying its for us.
Or if you don't need a receipt go to paypal.com and place our email address in the appropriate box and we will receive it within 3 days. Bmkdaughtry@gmail.com
I will be updating this blog frequently.. Keep up with us and let me know how you are doing!!

Progression is never pain-free

Our friends at YWAM Honolulu threw a going away party for us this last Sunday night. The main part of the party was an open mic. People came up one by one and shared encouraging words about how we've effected their personal lives as well as the base. There were many tears, lots of laughter, and hearts full of love. They ended our party by surrounding us, praying for us, giving us prophetic words, and releasing us to the next phase of our lives.
I was reminded that night that progression in life never comes pain-free.  With a new beginning always comes an ending. We are leaving behind so many young people that we've poured into with time, tears, prayers, laughter, and love. It truly is hard to separate ourselves and leave them behind.
Yet I am reminded that the Father is the best vine dresser. He knows which branches in our lives need to be cut, snipped,or saved in order for our family to be the most fruitful in the next season.
This reminder continues to fill me with a  peace that is beyond any I could conjure up myself.
We have 5 days left to finish packing so we can put our belongings on a barge headed to Maui. We have 8 sleeps left here and then we get on a plane and go home. Our 4 years in Oahu will come to an end.
Thank you all for your continued support. We have been blessed by our YWAM family, our supporters, and my husbands hard work. We are still in need of some money to purchase a bunk bed we will need and for moving costs. If you would like to support us in this transitional time you can send a check to YWAM  Honolulu with a note saying that it's for us. Or if you don't need a tax deduction you can go to the PayPal sight and put in our email address and it will go into my bank account, bmkdaughtry@gmail.com
Thank you for praying with us in this time!

Provision in the movement

My friend Ashley called today to say that
her and 5 other YWAMers were deep cleaning our new little cottage for us!
WHAT A BLESSING!
I was reminded that the Lord's provision not only includes monetary needs but needs of the heart and the mind too.
Seeing their servant hearts preparing a way for us has filled us with love overflowing.
Thank you guys for being a part of this miraculous move!

We have finally declared a moving date...
September 28!
Two and half weeks away!
It's kind of unbelievable!!
At first we thought we would leave September 20 but Bryan has received so much work here that we decided to wait one more week.
He has been blessed with one job right after the other. And we continue to watch the Lord make something impossible possible.
We are making all the necessary phone calls; Young Brothers for shipping of the car and household goods, Kihei charter school for Kieva, the dentist, Dr's, the insurance company, etc
We are packing daily and are shocked at the amount of things we own! When we moved here we sold everything and this time we will bring everything!

Slowly checking things off of our needs list.

In the moment of movement

We have found a place to live! A cute little plantation cottage that's right behind YWAM Maui in Haiku.
It's nothing fancy , yet it fits our Haiku country dream almost to a "t".
Once we figured out that we would be leaving YWAM Honolulu my husband told me to put a small ad on craigslist. "Christian family of three looking for a two bedroom cottage in Haiku"
and by the next day we received an email.
I called the number and was greeted by a local older man on the phone,he informed me  about the cottage and began asking questions about our family.
Somewhere in the middle of the conversation he asked what organization we worked with and I said Youth with a mission and he said "Oh YWAM! Do you know about the YWAM in Maui? We are their neighbors!"
WHAT?!
So he went on to say that we didn't need a credit check ,we didn't need any references .."Just send a picture of your family so we can see what you look like."
Within four days we had a place to live.
But then we decided that we should possibly think about staying on the island of Oahu.
So I called this couple and let them know that we had changed our minds and thank you very much.
After about two weeks of continual praying and processing to figure out what was the best for our family my husband came home and said "Why are we fighting to stay on this island? We need to go home to Maui."
So I placed our ad in the paper again and begin letting  people know that yes we were coming back to Maui for sure.
On Labor Day I talked to my friend/mentor Ayn about the whole situation. I told her about the cottage and even a few concerns I had had about it. I thought maybe we had decided to stay on this island  because it diverted us from the cottage...maybe  the cottage wasn't  for us ... And Then Ayn reminded me that we were leaving a YWAM base to go be salt and light to our neighbors. She said that maybe they needed us in their lives. She said it sounded like God had opened every door for a purpose .She then told me I should call them back and see if the cottage was still available. If This was the Lord opening a door then He would open it again and if not then He would close it again.
So I did just that.
When I called them they informed me that they had put their cottage on craigslist and had a few people coming to view it.
So I asked  if I could get some friends to come and see the cottage, take some pictures for us ,and if we could be a part of that pool of people.
They said yes and so the next morning my friends Ashley and Josh went and saw the cottage, took  photos ,called me back told me how much they loved the cottage and the older couple.
I called the couple excited about  the cottage and before I could say anything else the wife told me they had a family come earlier and they really like this family and this family wanted to move into the cottage..
So as I was about to say okay thanks anyway
When the wife said " We told them we had to wait to hear from you first."
WHAT?!
So our friends gave them a deposit check for us and we move in at the end of the month.
This has been and still is one crazy ride! Please pray for us as we continue to seek The Lord about our future.
We have some very practical needs and I will be posting them in a few days..thank you for joining us in prayer in this time .

A Shift in September ....

This last February the Lord began giving me a word... that a shift was coming in September. I remember thinking a shift?!what kind of shift could be coming? So I did what I normally do and started to try to put the pieces of the puzzle together myself.. I talked to a few close friends about this word and tried to get their insight. I wrestled with the possibility of homeschooling Kieva, I thought maybe  I would go back to school ...online, and I even thought, maybe it was a quarter for me to take some time just for my family. Mostly I just  wrestled with it inside of my head and my heart.
Meanwhile my family and I just carried on like normal with the daily tasks and then our awesome vacation back home.
Little did I know that answer to "the shift"was right around the corner...
After we arrived home we began meeting with our leaders and mutually came to the conclusion that it was time for our family to move on.
We took some time to process it all and just gained more and more peace and excitement everyday. Per usual when the Lord speaks to us it seems the process of change is quick.
For those few that remember ,  four years ago i heard the Lord say that we would received a Macedonian call . We did, we were invited to YWAM Honolulu at that time and within a month and a half sold our belongings, said goodbye to our friends, and moved from Maui to Honolulu to begin missions as a family.
We will be leaving YWAM Honolulu by the first  of October and will be moving back to  Maui.
Bryan will be going back to marble and granite fabrication and I will take a bit of a sabbatical from daily staffing at a base.
There are many prayer requests ,as we walk through this change, but I won't list them today.
I will  be updating this blog every other day because there are just too many details to share at once.
So please pray for us and if you receive any words just feel free to share .
We believe this is a nudge that the Lord is giving our family, so that we can bloom with greater beauty and fragrance
in Him, through Him,and for Him.

Flying High

How can one month go by so quickly?! Kieva and I are headed home and in some ways it feels like we just left.
We jetted off to Illinois and were thankful to spend a lot of time with Great grandma Hernandez. She is as beautiful as ever and at 83 is feistier then i've ever seen her.
It was great to be surrounded by the exuberant, opinionated, beautiful and hilarious Hernandez clan. I felt so oddly
normal around them.

These are just a few of the beauty's from our time there
Kieva went frog hunting, freaked out every time he saw rabbits hopping around and squirrels! He went fishing and even saw old friends.
Then off to North Carolina
Chatting with uncle Jason
Receiving birthday cake # 2
Fishing with Daddy
We were blessed to see Bryan's mom and all of that side of the family.
Kieva saw his other great grandma as well. She makes 88 look great!
We saw Bryan's dad and that side of the family. And we were reunited with our friends
There were birthday parties for Kieva, scooter rides, beach days ,pool parties and the list goes on and on.
Thank you to everyone who blessed us on this trip and blessed us for the trip. 2 years was too long to be away from our loved ones!!
We have been blessed beyond belief by our family and friends in Illinois, and in North Carolina.
We have a new season ahead .. Kieva in third grade, trip to Germany to teach, and perhaps a few other new happenings .. Will keep you posted!
