Progression is never pain-free

Our friends at YWAM Honolulu threw a going away party for us this last Sunday night. The main part of the party was an open mic. People came up one by one and shared encouraging words about how we've effected their personal lives as well as the base. There were many tears, lots of laughter, and hearts full of love. They ended our party by surrounding us, praying for us, giving us prophetic words, and releasing us to the next phase of our lives.
I was reminded that night that progression in life never comes pain-free.  With a new beginning always comes an ending. We are leaving behind so many young people that we've poured into with time, tears, prayers, laughter, and love. It truly is hard to separate ourselves and leave them behind.
Yet I am reminded that the Father is the best vine dresser. He knows which branches in our lives need to be cut, snipped,or saved in order for our family to be the most fruitful in the next season.
This reminder continues to fill me with a  peace that is beyond any I could conjure up myself.
We have 5 days left to finish packing so we can put our belongings on a barge headed to Maui. We have 8 sleeps left here and then we get on a plane and go home. Our 4 years in Oahu will come to an end.
Thank you all for your continued support. We have been blessed by our YWAM family, our supporters, and my husbands hard work. We are still in need of some money to purchase a bunk bed we will need and for moving costs. If you would like to support us in this transitional time you can send a check to YWAM  Honolulu with a note saying that it's for us. Or if you don't need a tax deduction you can go to the PayPal sight and put in our email address and it will go into my bank account, bmkdaughtry@gmail.com
Thank you for praying with us in this time!

Provision in the movement

My friend Ashley called today to say that
her and 5 other YWAMers were deep cleaning our new little cottage for us!
WHAT A BLESSING!
I was reminded that the Lord's provision not only includes monetary needs but needs of the heart and the mind too.
Seeing their servant hearts preparing a way for us has filled us with love overflowing.
Thank you guys for being a part of this miraculous move!

We have finally declared a moving date...
September 28!
Two and half weeks away!
It's kind of unbelievable!!
At first we thought we would leave September 20 but Bryan has received so much work here that we decided to wait one more week.
He has been blessed with one job right after the other. And we continue to watch the Lord make something impossible possible.
We are making all the necessary phone calls; Young Brothers for shipping of the car and household goods, Kihei charter school for Kieva, the dentist, Dr's, the insurance company, etc
We are packing daily and are shocked at the amount of things we own! When we moved here we sold everything and this time we will bring everything!
BLESSED
We have been blessed and are
Slowly checking things off of our needs list.
1.We paid our friends for the thousand dollar deposit( thank u babe for your hard work!)
2. Today we paid $850 of our rent due to the base. (Thank you Mom and Manuel for your support!) We owed $928 so we just need hundred and three dollars to be out of debt to the base!

If anyone would like to help you can either hit the PayPal button or if you would like a tax receipt then make a check out to YWAM Honolulu and add a note on a separate paper saying it's for our family .

In the moment of movement

We have found a place to live! A cute little plantation cottage that's right behind YWAM Maui in Haiku.
It's nothing fancy , yet it fits our Haiku country dream almost to a "t".
Once we figured out that we would be leaving YWAM Honolulu my husband told me to put a small ad on craigslist. "Christian family of three looking for a two bedroom cottage in Haiku"
and by the next day we received an email.
I called the number and was greeted by a local older man on the phone,he informed me  about the cottage and began asking questions about our family.
Somewhere in the middle of the conversation he asked what organization we worked with and I said Youth with a mission and he said "Oh YWAM! Do you know about the YWAM in Maui? We are their neighbors!"
WHAT?!
So he went on to say that we didn't need a credit check ,we didn't need any references .."Just send a picture of your family so we can see what you look like."
Within four days we had a place to live.
But then we decided that we should possibly think about staying on the island of Oahu.
So I called this couple and let them know that we had changed our minds and thank you very much.
After about two weeks of continual praying and processing to figure out what was the best for our family my husband came home and said "Why are we fighting to stay on this island? We need to go home to Maui."
So I placed our ad in the paper again and begin letting  people know that yes we were coming back to Maui for sure.
On Labor Day I talked to my friend/mentor Ayn about the whole situation. I told her about the cottage and even a few concerns I had had about it. I thought maybe we had decided to stay on this island  because it diverted us from the cottage...maybe  the cottage wasn't  for us ... And Then Ayn reminded me that we were leaving a YWAM base to go be salt and light to our neighbors. She said that maybe they needed us in their lives. She said it sounded like God had opened every door for a purpose .She then told me I should call them back and see if the cottage was still available. If This was the Lord opening a door then He would open it again and if not then He would close it again.
So I did just that.
When I called them they informed me that they had put their cottage on craigslist and had a few people coming to view it.
So I asked  if I could get some friends to come and see the cottage, take some pictures for us ,and if we could be a part of that pool of people.
They said yes and so the next morning my friends Ashley and Josh went and saw the cottage, took  photos ,called me back told me how much they loved the cottage and the older couple.
I called the couple excited about  the cottage and before I could say anything else the wife told me they had a family come earlier and they really like this family and this family wanted to move into the cottage..
So as I was about to say okay thanks anyway
When the wife said " We told them we had to wait to hear from you first."
WHAT?!
So our friends gave them a deposit check for us and we move in at the end of the month.
This has been and still is one crazy ride! Please pray for us as we continue to seek The Lord about our future.
We have some very practical needs and I will be posting them in a few days..thank you for joining us in prayer in this time .

A Shift in September ....

This last February the Lord began giving me a word... that a shift was coming in September. I remember thinking a shift?!what kind of shift could be coming? So I did what I normally do and started to try to put the pieces of the puzzle together myself.. I talked to a few close friends about this word and tried to get their insight. I wrestled with the possibility of homeschooling Kieva, I thought maybe  I would go back to school ...online, and I even thought, maybe it was a quarter for me to take some time just for my family. Mostly I just  wrestled with it inside of my head and my heart.
Meanwhile my family and I just carried on like normal with the daily tasks and then our awesome vacation back home.
Little did I know that answer to "the shift"was right around the corner...
After we arrived home we began meeting with our leaders and mutually came to the conclusion that it was time for our family to move on.
We took some time to process it all and just gained more and more peace and excitement everyday. Per usual when the Lord speaks to us it seems the process of change is quick.
For those few that remember ,  four years ago i heard the Lord say that we would received a Macedonian call . We did, we were invited to YWAM Honolulu at that time and within a month and a half sold our belongings, said goodbye to our friends, and moved from Maui to Honolulu to begin missions as a family.
We will be leaving YWAM Honolulu by the first  of October and will be moving back to  Maui.
Bryan will be going back to marble and granite fabrication and I will take a bit of a sabbatical from daily staffing at a base.
There are many prayer requests ,as we walk through this change, but I won't list them today.
I will  be updating this blog every other day because there are just too many details to share at once.
So please pray for us and if you receive any words just feel free to share .
We believe this is a nudge that the Lord is giving our family, so that we can bloom with greater beauty and fragrance
in Him, through Him,and for Him.
